True North Fights held it’s inaugural event on Saturday September 23, 2017 at the McIntyre Curling Club amongst hundreds of fans and supporters of local amateur Muaythai athletes from around the province and Quebec. It was an event to behold. Promoter Matt Poulin had been at work since April getting the event together. Matt is the owner of the Total Martial Arts Center ( in Timmins, and an established member of the martial arts community in northern Ontario. His goal to bring a high level amateur Muaythai card to his hometown was achieved that night.

In this episode, each of the 11 fights on the card is summarized with some commentary. A big thank you goes out to every fighter, coach, corner, supporter, vendor, and volunteer that participated in the event. Everyone’s efforts made the event a very memorable one, setting a standard for future shows.
