Kru Joe Marchand Tipping is one of Canada’s most experienced fighters and coaches. He began training at age 9 under Kru Chris Kew. He holds an amateur record of 87-19-3, and a professional record of 10-5. Joe has competed all over the world, including Lumpinee Stadium. He is still an active fighter, while also fostering the growth of the next generation of Canadian athletes at his school in Stratford, Ontario, www.fifthround.ca. His 20 year contribution to the sport of Muaythai in Ontario is important to study.
Kru Joe Marchand Tipping plays an important role in the history of Ontario Muaythai. He began his amateur career under CAMTAO, which was the first sanctioning body in Ontario. There are some legendary stories of Joe’s fights, especially because he was fighting grown men as a teenager.
Joe outlines his early beginnings in Muaythai. He also shares his experiences as a young competitor. Moving forward in the show, Joe has great things to say about MTO (Muaythai Ontario), the new sanctioning body in the province, and shares his perspective as a coach in the new era of Muaythai.
