SHEfights II 4-Woman Tournament Jackie Buntan
Jackie Buntan rounds out our series of feature articles about the 4 women competing in the SHEfights II Tournament on Saturday September 15th, 2018. At 21 years old, Jackie is the youngest competitor in the tournament. While this might be seen a disadvantage, Jackie doesn’t believe life experience takes precedence over the time spent inside the ring.
Representing Boxing Works, Jackie has been under the tutelage of Bryan Popejoy since she began Muaythai almost 10 years ago. In those 10 years, Jackie has made significant achievements in her Muaythai career, most recently winning her bracket at the 2018 TBAs and Fighter of The Tournament honours.
Almost one year to the date, Jackie introduced herself to Ontario Muaythai fans when she defeated Southside’s Mandana Rafat at Destiny 5 inside the Woodbine Racetrack & Casino. This week, Jackie makes her return to the ring on Canadian soil to face some of the toughest opposition Canada has to offer. However, Muaythai has no boundaries, and Jackie is sure to have the support of Canadian fans due to her skill set and ring craft. Returning to Canada with Jackie, is her teammate and SHEfights I veteran, Janet Todd.
This InFightStyle sponsored athlete looks to cement her status as one of the world’s best international fighters, and add two more ‘W’s’ to her 16-4 record when she competes at the SHEfights II 4-Woman Tournament this weekend.
